REIMAGINING EDUCATION 23

About Reimagining Education

To assist educators in educating this young generation of India, Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham in association with Dainik Jagran-inext, proudly announces the advent of Reimagining Education: a workshop for teachers. This workshop will target teachers who teach classes 9th to 12th across several cities in Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Bihar & Jharkhand.

The new NEP (New Education Policy 2020) has set the stage for students in India to receive an education that helps them understand and utilize their different unique capabilities/skills; but unless teachers understand this new method of teaching, assessing, and guiding students, this policy would lack practical implementation. Therefore, empowering teachers to make informed choices for themselves and their students’ careers in the forthcoming future, Reimagining Education will hold discussions, Q/A’s and an informative workshop regarding the NEP and ways to effectively carry out this new system in schools and classrooms.

Set to be led by a renowned educationist and career consultant, Dr. Amrita Dass, this workshop will welcome queries, open minds, and a learner's curiosity to provide guidance and required knowledge regarding the NEP. Furthermore, teachers who prioritize the importance of understanding this new structure and participate in this essential workshop will be recognized with certificates. Reimagining Education will help teachers connect how to guide students with making use of this policy to improve their curriculum and teaching-methods.

About the New Education Policy 2020
Representing a vision of quality, accessibility, equality, and transformation across different levels and fields of education, the announcement of a New Education Policy (NEP 2020) was made on 29 July, 2020 by the government of India.

Some Objectives of the NEP at a Glance:
Creating further opportunity for exploration in different and mixed areas of excellence among students and their unique capabilities.
> Recognising that emotional, social and ethical capacities of education are just as important as cognitive capacities.
> Promoting multilingualism, use of technology, equality and creativity in education.
> Moving from the 10+2 structure of school education to a 5+3+3+4 system.
> Aiding to the basic learning crisis in India
> Filling teacher vacancies and expanding qualifications required to teach with further opportunities provided to fulfill these expectations respectively.
With the arrival of the NEP 2020, education in India seems to have fallen under a bright future of opportunity and success. The New Educational Policy will not only help us come over our country’s illiteracy rates in certain parts of India but will also move towards a vision of turning India into a hub for quality education and an example of all that can be achieved through the power of knowledge.
Why participate in the workshop?
Every educator out there who wishes to understand the new opportunities they and their students now have in accordance with the New Education Policy 2020. The implementation of this policy comes with major changes in the fields of recruitment, curriculums, teaching methods, assessments and qualifications which – in order to master – require a thorough, open minded, and unbiased understanding against all personal perspectives.
The workshop will provide these educators a chance to not only learn and understand from the best but also a chance to know enough of this policy, its structure, working, and benefits that they will be able to be the compass for themselves and their students. The workshop will help them analyze future trends in the field of education and they will also be recipients of a participation certificate.
Participation in ‘Reimagining Education’ comes with an educational experience that will help teachers and then further on – students – solve any and all queries regarding the NEP 2020 and the choices they have at hand. Teachers will be able to guide students in the right direction and assess them in the most effective ways possible. Discussions will open platforms to personal viewpoints and a learning of different opinions on the same topic so that one can base their judgment and understanding of the NEP after having understood all parts and perspectives on it.
